DAMSS: Textile Architectures and Avant-Garde Visions in Fiber Art

DAMSS represents the pinnacle of the artistic partnership between Daniela Arnoldi, an environmental engineer, and Marco Sarzi-Sartori, an architect and designer. Operating from the creative heart of Milan, the duo has elevated International Fiber Art into a monumental and dialectical language, where the scientific rigor of design merges with the material vibration of upcycled fabrics.

These are not merely tapestries, but true narrative membranes that challenge two-dimensionality to become space, history, and future.

The Poetics of Salvage: Upcycling as an Ethical Manifesto

At the core of the DAMSS universe lies the Ethics of Recovery. Through a process of radical transformation of industrial waste, Daniela and Marco ennoble textile scraps, elevating them to monumental works of art. This approach to artistic upcycling is not just an aesthetic choice, but a concrete commitment to sustainability and planet protection, as demonstrated in the celebrated [ELEMENTI] series.

Technological Innovation and Augmented Craftsmanship

DAMSS are pioneers in the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), computer graphics, and high-end craftsmanship. This “augmented craftsmanship” allows them to generate complex textures and mathematical models (such as the Fibonacci Spiral in the Quinto Elemento) which are then translated into tangible matter. The synergy between bits and thread creates an unprecedented bridge between digital precision and the unpredictability of the manual artistic gesture.

Narrative Cycles: From Historical Memory to Cities of the Future

DAMSS’ production is articulated in wide-ranging thematic series, capable of dialoguing with art history and contemporary challenges:

  • Elementi Series: A quadrilogy (Water, Air, Earth, Fifth Element) investigating primal forces through installations exceeding 30 meters.

  • Città del Futuro (Cities of the Future): Dystopian and architectural visions of the year 3000, where fabric becomes urban structure.

  • Conviviale and Cinque Terre Series: A tribute to Italian identity, reinterpreted through chromatic layering and the memory of Flemish and Leonardescan masters.

Why Choose DAMSS Textile Art

With dozens of kilometers of yarn and hundreds of square meters of fabric processed for each single installation, DAMSS’ works are featured in prestigious institutional exhibitions and collections. Every contemporary tapestry signed by Daniela and Marco is a testimony of material resilience, an invitation to rediscover the value of touch in a digital age.
