L’ispirazione dietro Terra Elemento 8.4
Terra Elemento 8.4: Un viaggio nella materia L’opera dal titolo “Intrecci di Vita, Materia e Memoria Fiamminga” rappresenta una profonda esplorazione materica del nostro pianeta. In questa creazione, il duo artistico DAMSS scolpisce il paesaggio attraverso un assemblaggio opulento di fibre, trasformando il supporto tessile in una narrazione geologica e spirituale (www.damss.com).
L’ispirazione fiamminga in Terra Elemento 8.4 punta alla precisione miniaturistica e alla cura del dettaglio tipica dei grandi maestri fiamminghi, come Van Eyck e Bruegel. Come nelle loro tavole, anche qui la materia tessile suggerisce una distanza atmosferica e una profondità spaziale che cattura lo sguardo. L’opera invita l’osservatore a una lettura ravvicinata, quasi microscopica, per scoprire la complessità del mondo narrata attraverso i fili.
Tecniche e complessità tessile Per realizzare l’opera sono state impiegate diverse tecniche artigianali e sperimentali: dal ricamo a mano all’infeltrimento ad ago, fino alla manipolazione termica delle fibre. Ogni strato contribuisce a creare una texture tridimensionale che simula la crosta terrestre. Questa scultura tessile non è solo un oggetto estetico, ma un archivio di memoria dove ogni fibra rappresenta un frammento di vita.

The Inspiration Behind Terra Elemento 8.4
Terra Elemento 8.4: A journey through matter .The artwork titled “Interweaving of Life, Matter, and Flemish Memory,” is a profound material exploration of our planet. In this creation, the artistic duo DAMSS sculpts the landscape through an opulent assembly of fibers, transforming textile support into a geological and spiritual narrative (www.damss.com).
Flemish inspiration in Terra Elemento 8.4 draws on the miniaturist precision and attention to detail typical of the great Flemish masters, such as Van Eyck and Bruegel. Much like their paintings, the textile matter here suggests atmospheric distance and spatial depth that captivates the viewer. The work invites a close-up, almost microscopic reading to discover the complexity of the world narrated through threads.
Techniques and textile complexity To create the artwork various traditional and experimental techniques were employed: from hand embroidery to needle felting and thermal fiber manipulation. Each layer contributes to a three-dimensional texture that simulates the Earth’s crust. This textile sculpture is not just an aesthetic object but an archive of memory where every fiber represents a fragment of life.
